The Orion Merino Hoodie FZ is a full zip merino wool hoodie made in Italy, built to the same standard PDW applies to everything it makes. No shortcuts, no compromises, and no use of materials that won't outperform what you paid for them. Purpose-built as a technical mid-layer: a low-profile 3-panel hood structured for use under a helmet or hard shell, thumbhole cuffs to lock the sleeve in place under a pack strap or glove, a full-length YKK zipper for precise temperature regulation, double-reinforced elbows, and zippered hand pockets positioned for access when a pack hipbelt is cinched. Thank you!NPerfectionI was looking for something to wear under my motorcycle jacket to stay warm in the winter months so i needed it to be a little on the tight side, very warm, support free movement and thin. Too thick and I'll feel like a marshmallow. The price seemed a little high, but for a quality merino wool, I'd expect it to be high. I also never heard of Prometheus so to be honest, i was nervous having specific needs and buying it sight unseen or unworn.
When it arrived, I was blown away, I couldn't believe how perfectly it checked every box.
The material was different from what it looked like in the images, its a sweater hoodie, not really a fine nit hoodie like i expected but it's exactly what i needed. I LOVE the sweater.
Some people complain about the weight of the merino wool sweaters, but it's because they are used to wearing plastic. This is REAL wool, a natural material.SVerdant and VersatileA svelte, cozy, and purposefully appointed hoodie, lending pleasant capability to one's forays.
MAlmost PerfectThis is a very well build hoodie. Sleeves are the correct length and thumb holes are in a good spot. I am 6'5" with long arms and it fits very well. Holds close to the body without being restrictive.
All around very good fit.I find two problems that make it only a 4 star for me.
1. The seam on the lower chest making the upper hand pocket area make the hoodie bunch up here when moving. This is only a small dislike and over all not a problem, just could be better (also, maybe this only happens on me and not others).
2. The main issue I have is the hood is very small, like to the point that if feels more like a under-hood liner then a hood. I don't think it needs to be a Syth hood, but should be deeper then it is. I do understand it is listed as a "sleek" hood and maybe would be nice if the website showed a photo of what the hood looks like on someone. With a deeper hood this would be the best hoodie ever! But without I feel it is best for using under an outer layer.
